The former head of the Buenos Aires government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, current candidate for legislator in the elections on the 18th of this month, expressed his regret for bringing Jorge Macri to the City of Buenos Aires as part of his candidacy for the 'Let's Return to Buenos Aires' list. In an interview, Larreta mentioned that during his time in office, they won all elections in the City with 50 percent of the votes, highlighting his disappointment with the current political situation.
In radio statements, Rodríguez Larreta referred to the security crisis affecting the city, mentioning cases of robberies and home invasions, and even shared a personal experience where he was intimidated by a gang in Villa 31. He described these practices as characteristic of the suburbs that, according to him, are starting to spread in the City.
When asked about the criticisms received from the PRO for his supposed desertion of the party, the legislative candidate pointed out that several leaders have also distanced themselves from the formation. In this regard, he mentioned the departure of Patricia Bullrich, the UCR, the Civic Coalition, Public Trust, and socialism, attributing these decisions to poor current management.
Rodríguez Larreta emphasized the importance of resolving people's problems above partisan differences, indicating that the fundamental thing is to find effective solutions. He acknowledged his responsibility in the current situation and apologized to the residents for having contributed to bringing Jorge Macri to the City. He highlighted that the quality of management is decisive in the support of the citizenry, noting that the PRO is heading towards one of its worst elections.
